Is someone spying on you?
I decided to write this post as I became a little angry with one of our competitors whose news release implied that they now have computer control and as I looked into it, I found their iPhone and Android Apps are just vehicles to spread the word about their hardware.
The only system offering Computer Controlled PEMF Systems for clinical use is the Curatron 2000 PC and Curatron 2000 3D
One of our competitors today, released a smartphone app for Android and iPhone. I thought I’d download it to check it out but I became a little fearful. The install screen warned me that this App simply was too risky to install. The list of things it had access to were well outside the range of what it should have access to? Why would the app need access to my camera? Why would it need access to my photos and media files? Why would it need access to my microphone? Why would it need my device id and phone number?
The actual list on the install screen is:
This app has access to:
- Device & app history
Allows the app to view one or more of: information about activity on the device, which apps are running, browsing history and bookmarks - Location
Uses the device’s location - Photos/Media/Files
Uses one or more of: files on the device such as images, videos, or audio, the device’s external storage - Camera
Uses the device’s camera(s) - Microphone
Uses the device’s microphone(s) - Wi-Fi connection information
Allows the app to view information about Wi-Fi networking, such as whether Wi-Fi is enabled and names of connected Wi-Fi devices - Device ID & call information
Allows the app to determine the phone number and device IDs, whether a call is active, and the remote number connected by a call - Other
receive data from Internet
I opted not to install it and I’d prefer not to identify the competitor.
The install info on my Android reads:

These sorts of warnings scare me off. I did not do the install
Not being an iPhone user, I did try twice and came back to the Android world, where I’ll stay.
There are a couple of options that came to mind:
- iPhone software does not advise the user what risks he or she is taking.
- The Apple folks required the developer to clean up his act.
- The iPhone software allows items like the above and does not give the user the chance.
This app does not seem to claim to be a computer controller for a PEMF system. It appears to be a package of information about an company and how to locate their devices in the US. I own an iphone and was not prompted with any of these upon installation.
Well I added some more to my post and not much changes regarding the threats to my smart phone security.
See https://curatron.com/is-someone-spying-on-you/#added to review my added text. I have to admit that I misread the news release and the release did not say that it was an app to control their machine(s).
Awesome Chris! Still not sure why the app would need all of those permissions but I would be surprised if it was for spying! That would take up a lot of time haha
